Iran is willing to restart nuclear talks with Washington as long as it is approached with "dignity" and "honor", Iran's top diplomat has stated.

The Iranian diplomat said solely negotiations worked, and revealed recent overtures had originated from intermediaries to reopen talks with the American leadership. He claimed Iran did not have undeclared nuclear sites, and Iran could not yet authorize the UN nuclear inspectorate to visit attacked atomic facilities for security reasons.

Navigating a Difficult Route

Araghchi is treading a challenging course since Iran wishes not to be perceived to be proceeding from a situation of disadvantage, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had arisen more resilient defensively and psychologically from the joint assault on its atomic facilities in June.

He was addressing at a security conference in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel domestically that it will perpetually retain" – the key factor of the stalemate in the earlier negotiations.

Earlier Talks Suddenly Terminated

The earlier sessions of negotiations between the US and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious conclusion on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, attacked Tehran's atomic facilities in a 12-day war that concluded with the American leader asserting the facilities had been obliterated. Following this, EU nations employed their privilege to reimpose UN-wide sanctions, but Iran maintains they have not had a major impact.

Magic Solution Proposed

Iran's diplomats claimed they felt they had achieved a "perfect agreement" to the uranium processing matter in prior discussions, when it was settled an Iran-based consortium with American involvement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be certain that Iran's nuclear programme was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been agreed in the negotiations that American atomic experts could operate within Iranian territory, but that was a natural consequence of the cooperative offer. Officials asserted three times they had reached agreement with the US representative Steve Witkoff only for the agreement to collapse due to "detractors in America".

Existing Situation

Trump in recent days said he had been receiving messages that Iran wanted to restart talks, but in private Tehran representatives state they are not yet obtaining coherent offers from Washington either straightforwardly or from significant local go-betweens, such as Qatar, Egypt, the Omani authorities and the Saudi kingdom. The Iranian foreign ministry has been criticized of non-responsiveness in the aftermath of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran states diplomacy is not part of a show.

Political Stance

In his speech to the gathering, designed to portray the US as a dominant force that abuses the notion of worldwide standards, Araghchi said the fortnight-long engagement showed the conflict could not be settled by combat operations. He said the assaults started with a US demand for an complete Tehran capitulation and ended with an unconditional call for a ceasefire.

In what is portrayed by Iranian officials as the battle of recovery and recovery, the foreign minister said he was assured Iran's defence capabilities "are considerably enhanced than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year.
